Hello Lois. I am afraid I have done very little with the Doty family. My connection is through Edward's son, Thomas who married Mary Churchill. Their daughter, Hannah Doty (1675-1765), married Jonathan Delano at Duxbury in 1698/99. Their son Amaziah married Ruth Samson (and that is my Samson line). The son of Amaziah and Ruth was Ezekiel Delano who married Martha Chandler in North Yarmouth Maine. And my Delanos stay in Maine, connect to a Smith family and then Gatchell and then Jordan (my mother's maiden name). I have not documented the Doty connection except as it appears in the Samson Silver Book (MF #20) and I have not had that line certified, although it would easily be done since I have already proven well into the first 5 generations.
