I haven't discovered anything new, but last summer we managed to get our hands on a couple of contrasting views pro and con on the Abel/Seth White connection. From that I can tell people a lot more knowlegeable than myself have dug thoroughly through available records. So barring a new revelation from out of the blue, I don't believe the prospect of absolute confirmation of the relationship is likely. We are working on another connection on a Mercy White who married Wyatt Searl. Wyatt's father Nathaniel married Rebecca White the daughter of Abel White (1758-1823). We suspect that Mercy was also somehow related to Abel-- perhaps as a niece or a cousin. Anyway, our family tradition emphasizes the relationship to Peregrine through Mercy rather than Rebecca.
