Hi all! I have in my family tree: Constant Southworth m. Elizabeth Collier 1637 Edward A Southworth m. Alice Carpenter 1613 Sir Thomas B. Southworth m. Rosamomd Lister. Two questions: 1. I have seen conflicting info on who was the wife of Thomas. Some say Jane ? Others say Rosamond. Who is the real wife of Thmoas? 2. I have also info that Rosamond was a descendant of Walter of Gaunt and Maud, daughter of Stephen, Count of Brittany. If Rosamond was a wife of Thomas, are there any verifiable sources to show that she is indeed a descendant of Walter and Maud? IHG, Cathy B.

Hi Catherine, Can't help you with the wife of Sir Thomas B. Southworth, but will comment that the connection of Constant Southworth, and his brother Thomas, to Sir Thomas Southworth has not been reliably established. According to "The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-33", "Various attempts have been made to extend the pedigree of the brothers beyond their father Edward, but none has yet been succesful."
