There is a lot of chatter on this list right now regarding how the list works, etc. A couple of very excellent contributors have recently and quietly unsubscribed in the past few days and I suspect it may be from the sheer volume of off-topic postings this month. Please remember all postings to the list must be questions or offerings about "Mayflower passengers, their ancestors, spouses and descendants." That's all. I try to run a tight ship and have found that being a bit of an ogre on this subject is the best policy. ;-) General questions and postings regarding genealogy research methods and procedures are off topic and belong on "general" genealogy lists. I do tend to allow these kinds of messages if they relate to specific Mayflower-related topics, such as Dr. Bangs comments on the upcoming movie. I am sure we also will see some comments once the movie has been aired. This is inevitable. The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions" page for this list is at: www.macatawa.org/~crich/mayfaq.htm. It probably needs an update, but you should read it if you haven't done so. Questions and or messages about problems with postings, digests, etc should be sent as a private message to me and I will fix the problem. If someone doesn't like the way digests are displayed, I can change each subscriber's style with a mouse click. Just let me know. My email address is [email protected] Thanks! Oh, and responding to this message "on the list" is technically off-topic. Send me a private email if you need to. Now, on with the research!
