Why IS that? I know that there is no practical way for us to respond and "hope" that our response will be seen at the correct time, but this is ridiculous! What? Is it the ISPs? There is definitely something going on, because I keep getting messages telling me that my e-mails could not be delivered, because there is "no such address!" I live just blocks away from the latest person to which I was sending e-mails and saw that person three times yesterday in person, and that person told me that my e-mails DID get through! So, something is definitely going on in the "E-World," or these things would not be happening. There is nothing wrong with these few people sensing or feeling that they are being treated like 2nd-class citizens. If they feel that way, none of us can tell them that they should not FEEL that way! They have a right to their own emotions! I suspect the big problem is still the fact that the Message Boards are "Gatewayed" to the Mailing List. I suggest that this has to change and the message boards have to be kept separate from the mailing lists. That never made sense to me, and it still does not make sense to me. No one is certain of responding to the correct posting, and most of us get double responses. It makes no sense at all! I, for one, have been enjoying the conversations between Dr. Jeremy Bangs--who even confessed that he DID make a "Boo-Boo" because he thought he was sending a personal e-mail, but it went out to the entire world!--and the other people who were talking about the upcoming documentary, "Desperate Crossing" Sunday night on the History Channel. I am happy that Dr. Jeremy Bangs made such a mistake! I don't believe that the ordinary person would not recognize and respect people who are educated, especially the educated and decent people on this Mailing List. Most people who are educated and humane are very understanding, and the problem is pure "Semantics," to which we could chalk up the entire problem in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in our own government! Very few of us know what it is like to live a life of being an "illegitimate child" or being an "adopted child" and never knowing one's true biological family, which makes me cringe when I type the words! Why wouldn't anyone want to help someone in those situations, and from where I sit, help was offered on this mailing list! Sitting here on the sidelines, reading some of the e-mails, which came to me late and AFTER you jumped in here, I want to say, "What? What?" What are you talking about? There is nothing wrong! As a researcher, nothing pleases me more that to trace the family tree of someone who was adopted and is determined to find his or her birth parents. I have done it more than a few times, and there is no better reward for me than to have one more young person who thinks of me as their birth mother that they never had a chance to meet! Craig, the MFLR Mailing List is going along just fine and people have been behaving like good human beings! That is the one thing I am proud of..........being a direct descendant of two ordinary human beings who came here on the Mayflower: 1. Stephen Hopkins, who was arrested for serving beer on Sundays and for holding dances to keep the teenagers out of trouble; 2. Richard Warren, of whom there is not much known, but he sure had a lot of wonderful descendants, and he sure waited for his wife and his five daughters to arrive on the ship Anne two years later!
