Hello listers, I have come across a Miriam Standish who m. Joshua Jackson 'Jr.' in Peru, Berkshire, MA on Nov 24, 1796. I do not know the identity of this Miriam or this Joshua Jackson. I thought perhaps with the last name 'Standish' she could be a Miles Standish descendant. Does anyone out there know the identity of these people? I think that Joshua was my 6th great grandfather. Linda, In Mayflower Families Vol 16 (Standish) p. 160 there is a Miriam6, dau of Jonas5, (Israel4, Samuel3, Josiah2, Myles) Standish and Sarah Stedman. Miriam was b. ca. 1772 (does not give place). Among the references listed for this family are Peru-Hinsdale Baptist Church records. This Jonas was b. Norwich, CT 3 Nov 1751 and mentioned in the 1790 census of West Stockbridge. On 23 March 1772 Jonas Standish of Amenia, NY bought land in West Stockbridge from Ellias Willard. hope this helps.
