well I just returned from a 11,000 mile trip. way too many states to count... BUT we left WA state in an RV in April of this year. In May we finally arrived to Plymouth, Mass. 68 years, 6000 miles to get to come to Plymouth to see "Plimoth Rock"... and the darn ole thing was all boarded up!! Diesel being $4.95 a gallon when we were there sure cost me allot to only be able to buy a post card of the "famous rock". How terribly disappointed and bankrupt am I. a direct descendant of Pilgrim Edward Doty.

OH NO!! That's really bad luck. I saw it 5 years ago and I must admit, it isn't much of a rock. Just a small roundish boulder with 1620 chiseled into it. It sits in an enclosure that was full of sand and cigarette butts when we were there. But, the Mayflower Museum, the GSMD Library and Burial Hill were great. So was Brewster Park and the "Mayflower II" All in all, I'd say the rock was the least memorable part of the trip.
