I don't believe DNA can ever replace the paper lineage, mainly because (at this point) it cannot prove you are descended from a specific individual. For example male Howland descendants of John Howland would have the same or similar DNA results as those of Arthur Howland because they are brothers. One is a Mayflower line and one is not. I believe they are accepting (or soon will be) DNA results in addition to paper lineages, to be used as confirmation the paper lineage is genetically correct.
