    3. Bill, They were probably in transit to VT at the 1800 cenus or boarding with another family in Middleborough, or just missed! Frustrating, I know, but technically not important if you are sure the 1790 family is the same as the 1804 family, plus or minus several children. (1) Try also the Redding Surname boards (2) Plymouth County records are microfilmed and so orderable for a search through your area FHL or can be searched by NEHGS staff as they've both microfilm copy and manuscript copies. (3) You might contact Old Colony Historical Society to see what, if anything, they have on Reddings. (4) Also, you might want to figure out what county(ies) they are in in VT and try to do microfilm searches for deeds and probates (its a lot, a lot, less extensive than for Mass. records). NEHGS has a range of recent published data-extract books as well as what films exist. (5) If they moved on int0 NY from VT, you'll want to do ditto for NY counties and towns. Getting at those records, also microfilmed, is much more difficult than Mass. records. As I'm not going into Boston anytime soon, can't offer to check. Sorry Robert M. Gerrity YANKEE ANCESTRY P. O.
