I'm afraid I don't understand all I should about the Mayflower books. Perhaps some kind soul can clarify for me. I see there is already a book available in the "Mayflower Families Genealogies through Five Generations" series - vol 23 part 1, covering Howland's last six children. I gather the two new books will be parts 2 and 3 in that series? There are also two Howland books that apparently are not part of the Five Generations project, vol 1 apparently on Desire's children and vol 2 on son John's. How do these books differ from the others? This is of interest because my wife, whose descent from William Bradford I have successfully proved, also has a supposed descent from Howland that I'd like to explore. Thanks for any clarification anyone can offer. Terry Reigel

    3. Re: Thomas Weston I had not noticed that Thomas Weston (son of Thomas and Mary Howland Weston) died soon after birth, even though the silver book lists his wife as Isabella Campbell. I did find out that Thomas's 2nd wife Prudence Conant bore him a son Thomas in 1732 in Plymouth. Perhaps this Thomas married Isabella. There were also several other Thomas Westons born about the same time and in the same area (one with Joseph Weston the father). Kenneth Howland Molloy

    1. [MFLR] Thomas Jenkins (descendant of William White) family
    2. Raymond Wing
    3. Thomas Jenkins was born at Barnstable, MA on 8 MAR 1725/6, son of Ebenezer Jenkins and Judith White. Judith descends from William White of the Mayflower through: Resolved, Samuel, Melatiah, Judith. Thomas Jenkins married Thankful Wing at Harwich, MA on 23 APR 1752. Does anyone have a list of children for Thomas & Judith? I currently have Judith (born about 1752); Thomas (born about 1761); and possibly Melatiah (born about 1768). Has anyone found any probate records for Thomas? The Parish records for the First Parish Church of Harwich (now in Brewster) stated that Widow Thankf[u]l Jenkins was received into Communion on 4 SEP 1785, so Thomas died before that date. Raymond T. 1. [MFLR] Update on Howland books
    2. Hello all -- Here is an update for the two new Howland books. First, this is ALL the information I have. They are NOT taking pre-orders at this time as they do no have an exact page count. I spoke with the publisher today. The two books, descendants of John and Elizabeth (Tilley) Howland through the daughters Hope and Elizabeth are all in the computers there. The final copy has been sent back to the author for final proofing and corrections (there has been some corrections!). Once that is done, it goes back to the pub. for indexing (which is why we don't have an exact page count). Once the indexing is complete, it goes to the printer for copying and binding. This process will take a month or two. (Probably less for Elizabeth as that volume is much shorter that the Hope vol.). So, we are looking at May - July, barring any problems. They will call me when there is more news and I will pass it along right away. As I said, this is all the info available.
