In an earlier query, I asked about Abiah Sturtevant (b. Nov. 27, 1748). There seems to have been three Abiah Sturtevants. The Abiah Sturtevant I am interested in is the daughter of Nehemiah Sturtevant (b. Nov. 18, 1710) and Fear Cushman (b. Jul. 10, 1718. Does anyone know if this relationship is documented? Fear Cushman is the descendant of three Mayflower passengers (that I can see) 1) Richard Warner, 2) William Bradford, and 3) Isaac Allerton. Thanks for any assistance. I also descend from Richard and Elizabeth (??) Warren........ via their dau Elizabeth born circa 1616, married Richard Church by 1635. Since Richard died in 1628, only 8 years after the Plymouth Colony started.....doubt if his grave whereabouts is known. Elizabeth however lived to be 90...died in 1673. I would like to know where they are buried....if possible. Can anyone recommend a good movie that somewhat faithfully captures the time and mood of the early settlers? Thanks. Steve Ferriss Yes Steve - it is called "THE AWAKING LAND" with Hal Holbrook - Elizabeth Montgomery - [Bewitched] Jane Seymour - etc. It was a mini series on TV a few years ago - I think it was shown not too long ago on the History channel - [I think] I just love watching it - it is very good.. show's you how the land developed and a good insight to the people that lived then. IF you find it on CD's let me know, I would love to have it in my collection. Elizabeth Montgomery did an outstanding job, as did Hal Holbrook and Jane Seymour and the rest of the cast - it is about 6 hours long. Wilma Fleming Haynes gencon@harborside.com

Schani: Here's some info on Experience Mitchell from notes I took from "Plymouth Colony, Its History and People 1620-1691," by Eugene Stratton: In 1627 he signed agreement to allow privileges to the 8 Undertakers in return for their assumption of the Colony's debt. p. 327-8 has a biographical sketch. He arrived in Plymouth in 1623 on the Anne. He was from Duke's Place, London. Seems he was at Leiden. On the 1633 Plymouth Freeman list. He later moved to Duxbury and was a highway surveyor and served on various juries, although once was fined for refusing to serve on the grand jury. He married, prob. not long after the 1627 cattle division, Jane Cooke, dau of Francis 1 of the Mayflower. No record of their marriage but their son Thomas refers to his grandfather Francis Cooke in a 1 Aug 1672 deed (MD 3:104). By his first wife Jane he had Thomas and Elizabeth, but indirect evidence indicates the rest of his children were probably by his second wife Mary _____. (See NEHGR 127:94 and TAG 59:28 and MQ 49:130). His will dated 5 Dec 1684, inventory 14 May 1689, named wife Mary, sons Edward and John, grandsons Experience and Thomas, granddaughter Mary Mitchell and daughters Mary Shaw, Sarah Hayward, and Hannah Hayward (MD 32:97). His dau Elizabeth, who m. John Washburn, and his son Jacob, who m. Susanna Pope, predeceased him. I descend from Jane Cooke's sister Hester who m. Richard Wright, so I don't have much info on Jane's descendants. Hello Folks -- I'm trying to confirm the marriage of a descendant of Ruth Alden, in the lineage printed below. The bride, a descendant of Ruth Alden who is listed at the Alden Kindred web site (link is given below, in Dawn Green's message), was Hannah Hayden. By my records, her husband was William Dolley, and the marriage took place on 28 Apr 1791, in Gray, Cumberland, ME. There is an entry in the VRs of Gray, ME for such a marriage, cited at <www.familysearch.com>. The lineage is: John Alden +Priscilla Mullins Ruth Alden +John Bass Sarah Bass +Ephraim Thayer Hannah Thayer +Nathaniel Blanchard Hannah Blanchard +Clement Hayden Hannah Hayden, b. 11 Nov 1765, Braintree, MA All of the above lineage is given in the Alden Kindred web site. I have no doubt that Hannah Hayden married William Dolley. However, there were a bunch of Haydens in Maine at that time, and I have some doubt that Mrs. Dolley was the daughter of Clement and Hannah (Blanchard) Hayden. Was there another Hannah Hayden?
