This message is for all descendants of Peregrine and Resolved White as well as any other interested Mayflower Descendants. Hi folks, A limited supply of my book, "White Family Heritage" has been delivered to me today. Finally! It has been a long five and one-half months since I signed the contract. I would like to thank everyone for their prolonged patience. I will begin mailing them out to you just as soon as our weather improves. Tomorrow, we may see fourteen degrees below zero! I will be mailing them out to you in the exact same order that I have received your payments. I hope that you enjoy reading this book as much as I have enjoyed writing it. You will find a few "oh ohs" and "oops" in the pages, but please have mercy, this is my first time at writing a book. Thanks again for your interest in the White Family, Bob Sheehan
Thanks to all who responded to my query regarding Lysbeth/Elizabeth Rogers. The only place I have seen her listed as the daughter of Thomas Rogers is Mayflower Increasings. I will keep on looking, and again, thank you. Pat Thayer
I am just documents away from my membership -- any help would be appreciated. I need proof that... Timothy Rowley Jr. (b. 1762 Richmond, MA) is Peter Rowley's Father (b. 1795) Thank you for your help. Vicki Charles
I'm a descendant of Richard Warren, and Edward Bompasse. I can prove it all but perhaps a generation, and that is a matter of just digging it up. The bottom line is that I am close to ready to being a member of the Mayflower association. I am new to the list and I see a bit of chatter about people becoming members. I'd like to see if anyone out there has any pointers about how to go about this process. My great great great grandmother is Olive Bumpus of Moscow, Maine. IT is through her that the line comes down through. Any information or hints would be much appreciated, looking for cousins to chat with too!!! Does anyone know who are the parents of Henry ROGERS b. abt 1649 of Springfield, MA who married in 1675 in Springfield, MA Mary EXELL? Any Mayflower link to Thomas? Roger
Patricia and list, Although it does not directly answer your question, perhaps this information might be of interest to you all. In the book entitled "The Woodworth Family of America - Descendants of Walter Woodworth of 1630 Through Six Generations" by Jeanette Woodworth Behan, the following is stated about Elizabeth... "Walter 1 Woodworth, the progenitor of the Woodworth family in America was born in England about 1612 and died in Scituate, Plymouth Colony, early in 1686; parentage unknown. He married about 1639/40. No record has been found of his wife's name. She was living in March 1676 when a court case mentions Mehitable Woodworth's parents, but had died by 26 November 1685, when Walter made his will, naming ten children. Some have speculated that Walter married Elizabeth Rogers, the daughter of Thomas Rogers of the "Mayflower". Elizabeth Daniel, authoress of Thomas Rogers, Pilgrim and Some of His Descendants, 1980, states "Whether Thomas Rogers really had a daughter Elizabeth is at all is a matter of theory. There are records in Leyden, Holland, that suggest that two daughters lived there with their mother, but there is no absolute proof. Whether one or both of these possible daughters ever came to America, we don't know..."". I'd be anxious to see if anyone has any other information on Elizabeth as there is no other reference to her in this book. Anderson, Robert Charles, "The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1633" contains the following: ELIZABETH, bp. 26 December 1609; living at Leiden in 1622, perhaps came later to New England and married there [TAG 52:110-13; Bradford 446]. Stott, Clifford L., "The English Ancestry of the Pilgrim Thomas Rogers and His Wife Alice (Cosford) Rogers," The Genealogist, 10:2, also has info on the existence of Elizabeth. Bradford tells us, "Thomas Rogers died in the first sickness but his son Joseph is still living and is married and hath six children. The rest of Thomas Rogers's came over and are married and have many children." However, I do not think anyone has proven whom Thomas Rogers' daughters married. Looking for comments , corrections, additions, etc. Will eventually file for membership under the stephen hopkins line once I can track down the recent generations birth/death certificates... one word, I know the relationship between ruth hopkins and samuel mayo is not "written in stone" in the mayflower silver books so dont write to tell me that isnt proven I already know that, its just VERY probable (even the silver books think so). But the link to the Brewster line though that marriage stands on its own without proving who her parents were. This line ended up out near Brunswick Maine to this present day if that helps you place anyone. I do have places for most of the events I just omitted them to save space/email size. Email me for further details. Thanks :-) (1)Stephen Hopkins of the mayflower + Mary ? I don't know if the following update made it to the list. If I missed it, I apologize for the duplication. I also should add that the surname GARDINER is also found as GARNET. Len. ---------------------------- In a message dated 12/10/02 10:54:50 PM Eastern Standard Time, T0Leo writes: > ....I believe the STURTEVANT line is reliably traced to George STURTEVANT > (b. ca. 1800) who m. in 1831 (Pembroke) Naomi Stetson SAMSON. I make reference to my12/10/02 posting on this subject. I have since located the death record of George STURTEVANT, dated 4 April 1865. I found it in Pembroke (where I ought to have looked first! ). It names both of his parents and confirms his birth date as 1809 as I had already suspected from a monument inscription. He was 55 years, 1 month and 20 days old at time of death. His parents are shown as Ichabod STURTEVANTE (sic.), born in Halifax, and Ruth GARDINER, born in Pembroke. In checking the VRs volumes I find that Ichabod was born in December 1771 (Pembroke VRs, p. 198). He married Ruth Gardiner 3 April 1803. A Pembroke tombstone birth record (G.R.-1) reads "Ichabod (h. Ruth)(December --- 1771). In an attempt to determine the next generation back I found another Ichabod STURTEVANT. He is shown in the Plympton VRs as a son of Noah STURTEVANT and Suseanna HARLOW, but his birthdate is not given. Based on interpolation he would probably have been born ca. 1750 as the fourth child of Noah (b. 7 Oct 1717, Plympton VRs, p. 206) and Suseanna whom he married 22 Nov 1744. I thought the list would like to know the status of this research. Though the FULLER and HOWLAND lines are out for now, I am very interested in proving the STURTEVANT line and research continues. Any comments on the recent findings would be most welcome. Len -------------------------------

Abner-5 Fuller, b 10 Dec 1724, the ninth child of Samuel-4 (John-3, Samuel-2, Edward-1) and Naomi Rowley Fuller, "probably died young" according to notes accompanying the (Edw) Fuller family #46. Another Abner Fuller in the Edward line was born ca 1737, in the next generation family #191, to John-5, brother of the Abner-5 above. (John-5, Samuel-4, John-3, Samuel-2, Edw-1). Mayflower would have not published information on this later five gen Abner. The second Abner is either named for an uncle which we have little information on ("probably" d y), or a deceased sibling. Warrants further investigation. The only additional Abner I see in the family during that timeframe is child #vii in Family #85. This Abner, born 1738 to Ruth Fuller and Pete Robinson. The Rowley family are well interspersed in this Fuller line. Moses Rowley (son of Elizabeth-3 Fuller) married a Mary then Mary Crippen, had Naomi Rowley who married the Samuel-4 above.
Can anyone help me with the generations following Edmund Freeman and Sarah Sparrow? Thankyou so much! Meredith Peters
