To Ken and all: Ken, I am very pleased that you and Don have worked out a solution to this 'problem'. For those of us with a brick wall in our family tree, DNA family research could save us an enormous amount of time and money. When you can't find the parents of an ancestor, you have to look at all possibilities in a given time period and in many places. Not all of us have the resources to travel all over the country (and world) or to hire genealogists to help us scale our brick walls, so we search and search -- kind of like trying to kill a tick with a shotgun -- your research is so spread out that it is inefficient. Yes, I have all of the same concerns about sharing my DNA as the rest of you do, but at we need to at least be open minded about the possible benefits vs. the risks and in the process learn more about what is being offered.
