    3. Good Afternoon, I am out of the hospital for a while and do not have access to all of my records so will send this. I obtain some of this information from Jim Stout jimstout@earthlink.net John Maxwell and Ann, his wife children are mentioned in "The earlyi settlers of Passaic Valley" by John Littell. Sdome of this Maxwell line is also in the history of Hunterdon and Somerset Counties of New Yersey by Sneel, 1881 p. 00 John Maxwell, brother of Gen. William Maxwell was the son of John Maxwell and wife Anne from North of Ireland, who was a disenter - Scotch Prebyterian. He settled in what is now Warren C., near the Hunterdon line. John settled in Raritan Twp. and married at an ealy day to Elizabeth Kirpatrick (She had been married before and I believe that I do have her maiden name somewhere. abc.) His sons John, George C. and William were prominent citizens there. The former was a merchant and also owned the mills now known as Rockafellow's. He died prior to . George C. and William were both prominent lawyers, the first named died before 1822 the latter died @ 8. Jjohn's epitaph (in part) - John Maxwell, Esq., second son of John and Anne Maxwell, born in County of Tyrone, Ireland, Nov. 25, 739. He was a Lt. in the first company raised in Suissex Co. He joined Washington' s Army of a company of volunteers and fought in several battles. John died at Flemington on Feb. 15, 1828 in his 89th year.
