Larry, I am familiar with your Rev. Thomas Maxwell. There is a good bit of information out there about that branch of the Maxwells. My Samuel Maxwell (b. 1781 VA) was in Montgomery Co. VA in 1801 by himself with just a mule. The next year he married Martha Patton, daughter of Thomas Patton, and in 1803 they had their first child, Amos. There were several Maxwell families in that area since the mid and late 1700's, but I cannot connect Sam to any of them. I feel there must be a connection though.
