I hope that someone on the list can help me with this Maxwell family. I was given a possible lead today on my family tree. I would love to be able to confirm what I was told. This info was given by a very elderly lady. Ms Mandy stated that her grandmother was a Maxwell. From what I have found in the census her first name was referred to as Rilla in one census year 1870 she is listed as Parilla. So far the only thing close to this first name has been Permelia. I found the following Maxwell family in the 1850 Overton TN. Census James Maxwell age 55 Farmer born in KY Elizabeth Maxwell age 48 Permelia Maxwell age 16 William Maxwell age 11 Armilda Maxwell age 9 Have Maxwell age 7 Does anyone have any further info on this Permelia Maxwell? If the info that Ms. Mandy gave me is correct this Permelia may be our Rilla. Ms. Mandy stated that her mother was a Carmack (first name was Amanda) we have traced Amanda to Josh Tench Carmack and Rilla in Jackson County and then further back on the Carmack line in Overton. But the Maxwell line is new to me and before I proceed I need to find the mysterious Rilla Maxwell Carmack. If anyone has any info on this Maxwell family I would appreciate the help, or any leads you may have. Thanks Trish
