I had such an experience with Ancestry and canceled. Maxwell Hightower
Ancestry census on line is not perfect. My biggest gripe is that when trying to find a township often what you're looking for is not listed. Some I've never found. Others I've found mixed with another nearby township. Also, except for 1850 and 1920 there's no index. However, for me to be able to search through census data requires me to travel a minimum of 90 miles. When I get there I'm always rushed for time. With the Ancestry census access I can sit and scroll through the pages at my leisure. When I get a clue to another ancestor I can log on and pursue it immediately without having to plan another trip to be able to follow up on the lead. An annual subscription costs about the same as one trip to the library, so for me it is well worth the cost, even with the problems they have. -- Larry Thompson My genealogy page http://www.epix.net/~lt0168/index.html My Allegheny Co. maps page http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~lt0168/maps/
