    3. So sorry for your loss. Hold on to the kilt, the grandchildren may become interested at some point and what a gift that would be. My grandfather ran off a Maxwell from West Virginia. Her name was Martha. I have no idea what happened to her. He was a lot older than she was. I can find their son, and some of the grandchildren live in Kentucky, but they haven't been real forthcoming with information. Could be they don't know. My grandfather was a bit of a womanizer, so after, she disappeared, he 'married' my grandmother. She was 37 years younger than he was! More kids, including my mother. Take care, Virginia in Seattle “Never spend your money before you have earned it.” Thomas Jefferson On 7/9/2013 11:42 AM, suemaxwell wrote: > It has been awhile since I have been on this site. 3. I'll toss this out to this discussion to add to the confusion. There is a Henry Maxwell, born about 1780 in SC, that lived in AR contemporary with Henry Maxwell-1811, son of James and Hannah Maxwell. Henry Maxwell-1780 is married to Parthina Cowan and living in Jefferson Twp, Sevier Co, AR in the 1850 census. In Henry-1811's diaries he speaks of a trip to AR to visit this family. In the Texas land records there is a sale of land to a Henry Maxwell by Jackson B. Maxwell(son of Henry-1780) in the right time frame to be Henry-1811. So... is there a family tie? If so, what is it? In the same time frame there is a James Maxwell that marries Mary Majors in 1802 in TN. Are these kin? So many questions, so few answers. Max On 6/10/2013 5:22 AM, Lyndall Maxwell wrote: > *LOOK TOM. 3. I don't think this is the Andrew Jackson Maxwell, son of James Maxwell and Hannah Wood. 3. I'm looking for a male unknown Maxwell that married a Charlotte unknown Charlotte- b. abt 1810 in South Carolina, and had the following children all may have been born in Alabama or Carolina's: Miriam b: abt 1830, Edmond b.abt 1831, Julia A. B.abt 1842, Martin b.abt-1844, Elizabeth b.abt 1845, & Mary J b.abt 1848 I'm assuming all Children are Charlotte's, all are in the same household in Alabama Jonesboro census except Edmond is living next door, and his last name is listed wrong, but I know it's him. He's listed as Edmond Daily, which is his sisters maiden name! This has been all VERY confusing to figure out! I descend from the line of Edmond and would love to meet some people from this same line, and to exchange information! Thanks, Jamie Maxwell Billits Mobile # 205-296-7909 Sent from my iPhone....

    1. [MAXWELL] John Maxwell Nesbit family Ireland related to Maxwell
    2. Donald Maxwell M.D.
    3. I am looking for any information that might connect a MAXWELL family to that of John Maxwell Nisbet: I beleive his Nesbit family was from Loughbrickland area, North Ireland. John Maxwell Nesbitt set up a mercantile firm, J.M. Nesbitt of Philadelphia. He held many offices of trust and honor, such as: Treasurer of Board of War and Paymaster of the Navy. In 1781 he assisted Robert Morris in founding the Bank of North America; he was the first President of the Insurance Company of North America. He died unmarried on January 22, 1802 and left his firm to his business partner. David Hayfield Conyngham. Alexander Nesbitt - 2nd brother - was founder and first captain of the City Troop. In 1799 he formed a partnership with General Stewart and conducted the mercantile house of Steward and Nesbitt in Baltimore, MD where he died unmarried in 1791. Jonathan Nesbitt - 3rd brother - represented the firm of J. M. Nesbitt and Company abroad, where he was best friends of Robert Morris and Benjamin Franklin. He became impoverished by the Revoluntionary War and dies in great distress in France, where he is buried at L'Orient. James Nesbitt - 4th brother - was sent to live with his sisters at Springton Manor, Chester Co, PA where many of the members of the N/N family has settled to whom he often referred to as "our Caledonian Cousins.
