    3. Hi Mary, I think I found that one on Google but I have to apologize, I was thinking it was Kegley's that had all three books online but it was Chalkley's. Great source. Nice hearing from you, how have you been? Thanks so much for your reply. 3. Hello, Our Maxwell line came from Ireland circa 1780 William Maxwell was born 1745 Scotland and married Sarah ? Born 1753 Scotland. They traveled to Ireland and raised their family then brought the family to Pennsylvania abt 1780 We find them in Fayette County, PA on 1790 census then on to the Northwest Territory on 1800-1810 Land Tax records in - Knox Township, Jefferson CO, Ohio . We have 3 known children of this union. Jane Maxwell b 1769 Ireland married John Daniel Dunlevy b 1768 Ireland - Lived in Cross Creek, Jefferson County, Ohio Charles Maxwell b 1777 Ireland married Sarah ? B 1776 PA - Lived in Cross Creek and Wintersville, Jefferson County, Ohio John Maxwell b 1799 Ohio County, VA married Mary (possibly Cochran) b 1803 Ohio County, VA - Knox Township, Jefferson, Ohio which became Knox, Columbiana, Ohio Our Maxwell lines, of these children, produced large families and as you can see we have many gaps in the birth years of the above children. We know there must be other siblings but can not document their existences. Family first names, included the above as well as Robert, William, Samuel, Moses, David, Joseph, James, Thomas, George, Francis and Edwin or Edward. Sarah, Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Frances, Matilda, Harriett, Catherine, Anna and Nancy. If any of the above is familiar to your Maxwell lineage please contact me at [email protected] Good luck to all searching, Chriss Maxwell -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Sunday, November 09, 2008 3:01 AM To: [email protected] Subject: MAXWELL Digest, Vol 3, Issue 29 Digest readers - if you prefer reading the Digest in MIME - drop me a note at [email protected] and I will take care of it for you. They were David and Margaret Ukn. Maxwell. Along with them came two of David's brothers. The brothers split and nothing is known of the other two, only one's name was recorded, Moses. David was born bet. 1760- 70 as was Margaret and both were of Donegal Co. 3. I don't think so. As Olive and I have discussed our respective MAXWELLs, she's shared some photos of Caerlaverock Castle plus some of her Irish research. She transcribed these two MIs because I told her my interests are pre-1740. The forename similarities, location, and earliest dates in the first MI are intriguing, but there's nothing to definitely tie these folks to our family. Mary P.S. Olive descends from the MAXWELLs of Munshes. For those who'd like to read more about Galloway MAXWELLs: <http://www.buittle.org.uk/records.htm#Munshes>http://www.buittle.org.uk/records.htm#Munshes. 1. [MAXWELL] Maxwell Family c1715-1850 of NJ, PA, NY
    2. Check out the Book of Maxwell, which contains my Maxwell Ancestors starting with Anthony Maxwell c1715- . http://www.angelfire.com/members/nycnuts/timelines.html I also have some information on various Maxwell families that lived in New York City prior to 1850, including all Maxwells listings (pre-1850) in the city directories, but I have not yet made this information available on my web-site. So let me know if anyone out there has any pre-1850 New York City Maxwells. Happy Hunting--Jim Maxwell

    3. To let everyone know that I am still here.  I had my internet disconnected because I have been gone some time now and want to get back to working on the Jackson County Maxwell's.  Is the Catherine on here Catherine King?  I have been working on these maxwell's a long time, since the early 80's.  Would love to share with all on the Maxwell's and add to their lineage.  Unlike most of you, I grew up in Jackson County, our families never left and now I have retired and moved back here. I grew up with the Maxwell names and stories about them since 6 years of age.  I went to school with Maxwell descendents.   I am going to give my address and telephone # again so that if I get misplaced and not checking my mail you can get through to me.    Madolyn York P.O.
