    3. I've had great success with Geneology on my father's side (Broyles) but I have little information on my mother's lineage. Myrtle Marie Broyles born in Wilder, TN (near Davidson) October 29,1919 died June 13, 1998. I am trying to trace back but the only info I have on my grandparents are Cicero Maxwell and Conzie Jones. I have no birth or death dates. Conzie died when my mother was young and Cicero remarried. The new step mother already had children so there were step children then half children. There were 13 children in all. Any information or direction would be appreciated. thank you, Gary Broyles

They are well looked after by the Defense Department and you already pay for the upkeep with your tax dollars. That e-mail is 100% bogus. 3. Hi Josette, Please forward the email you received to me, with expanded headers. I need to find out if that person is someone subscribed to the list. That is totally unacceptable practice. I 'own' several surname lists for rootsweb, and this is the first I've heard of it. We must nip it in the bud before it gains traction. Before any alerting of the lists, let me try to determine who the sender is. If it seems to be from a legitimate organization, I will attempt to get them to stop this practice. Thanks for the heads up. I look forward to getting the email. The email sent to me reference my being a Maxwell researcher and the name supplied was a Maxwell buried Ardennes from North Carolina. They apparently then ask for money from the families to keep up the graves. This is probably happening on all the rootsweb lists. 3. Hi Josette, I am glad to know that you are still researching the Maxwell line. The John McCall will is news to me. It shouldn't be too difficult to run it down. Go to the York Heritage web site, http://www.yorkheritage.org/ I have already looked at it and there is a McCall file (file number 501). They won't copy a whole family file for you but they will send you documents on an individual. Wanted to ask if you'd ever researched the will of John McCall written in Adams County PA 1780 which lists amongst other cousins a Robert Lindsay and Agness Carson. This Agness could be the wife of Walter, last record is 1767 in Adams but not on 1772 tax list. Their son John is in Adams until late fall 1779; Henry Maxwell is there until late 1780s, so she could be alive in 1780 and living there. The interest in the Lindsay connection is because of North Carolina. As you know, John Carson and Walter Carson (who married Mary Carson daughter of Samuel and Jane in Chester County) plus six brother in laws of Walter Carson went to the Carolinas late 1750s/early 1760s. Walter m. Mary is by circumstantial evidence the son of Walter and Agnes of Adams. In addition, another son William is proven and he too goes to the Carolinas. My research of late points to William Carson, land grant 1761 in Iredell m. (supposedly) Eleanor McDuff as being the son of this William. This William names eldest son Walter Lindsay Carson. Now, there is a Walter Lindsay in that area as well as in Adams/Chester PA. Given the McCall will, it struck me that the cousins Robert Lindsay and Agness Carson could be cousins themselves or siblings. So, I started looking for an Agness Lindsay and, lo and behold, there is an Agness Lindsay b. 1698 in Scotland whose father was Walter Lindsay. Thought you'd be interested. 3. Hello Shelley, Your Maxwells belong to a family that can be traced back to Eastern Shore Maryland and to New Jersey. Their lineage is as follows: Henry W. Maxwell (1854 - 1922) m. Mary Jane Pyle Parents: Levi P. Maxwell (1826 - 1913) m. Eliza Jane WARSON (1830 - 1912) G. Parents: William MAXWELL (1797 - 1839) m. Theodocia SANDERS(1799 - 1829) G.G. Parents: John MAXWELL (1765 - 1857) m. Jane BRAZELTON (1774 - 1833) G.G.G. Parents: John MAXWELL of Westfield, NJ. m. ? ? These Maxwells are not connected to my Maxwells on this side of the water. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with the three children ranging in age from about 3 to 10 years old. Thanks to the assistance of a MAXWELL Family Researcher I believe that we have been able to gather the following information regarding this family: Hattie, Ross, and Alice MAXWELL are the children of Henry W. MAXWELL and Mary Jane PYLE. Hattie was b. 1877, Ross b. 1880, and Alice b. 1881. Hattie MAXWELL married James Edward LANG and Alice MAXWELL married Bart SOLLARD. 3. What a nice posting. I have checked my data base and I do not have anything that fits this Maxwell Family. I certainly wish it did. Merry Christmas to You and Your Family. Glenda Maxwell Simpson, Pisgah Forest, NC -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Shelley Cardiel Sent: Tuesday, December 23, 2008 12:12 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MAXWELL] MAXWELL Family Photograph I've "rescued" an old photograph of Hattie, Ross, and Alice MAXWELL which was taken at the Edinger Studio in Des Moines, Iowa. Alice & Bart SOLLARD had a son Jack Maxwell SOLLARD. I am hoping to locate someone from this MAXWELL Family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place, with family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
