While the activity on this list is revived I'm taking advantage and posting a new inquiry regarding the ancestry or any other information that anyone migh have concerning this lady. Paradine Maxwell Born: 1837, Kentucky Father: No Data Mother: No Data Died: 1900, Carter County, Oklahoma Buried: Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, Carter County, Oklahoma She was the wife of Adam Poe, older brother of my great-grandfather William Poe, of Osage and Maries County, Missouri. The date and place of birth is from a census record. In 1860 Adam was in what is now Colorado participating in the gold and silver rush. He fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War, returned to Missouri with Paradine as his wife and then moved to Nebraska City, Nebraska where he died shortly afterward. She and their daughter Anna Eliza were still in Nebraska City in 1870; came back to Central Missouri pre-1884, Anna married a Luster and they all moved to Carter County, Oklahoma, stopping in Springfield, Missouri for a short period of time along the way. They were in Carter County, OK by 1890 per a "News and Notes" item in the Ardmore newspaper. Mr. Luster was a merchant, both Paradine and Anna taught school. Any help would greatly appreciated. Perhaps you have information on my Maxwell line. My earliest known Maxwell is William "Billy" Maxwell (1863-1918) who lived in DeKalb County, Alabama. Billy married Anne Elizabeth Keith (1871-1943). There is a chance Billy's father was Braxton Maxwell. However, I have not been able to find any other information on a Braxton Maxwell of the right age. I am not a big fan of Facebook but I would be interested in participating in that or any other medium you come up with to share Maxwell information. None of the names are familiar to me. Who is your oldest documented ancestor? Where did they live? What was the migration pattern, i.e. PA to WV to Ohio? My husband and I are both Maxwell's by birth. His line has many people researching it and there are many cousins around. He is descended from Robert and Elizabeth Maxwell of Penn, through, Thomas and Jane Lewis who moved into WVA, Levi Maxwell and Sarah Haymond, Rufus Maxwell and Sarah Jane Bonniefield, Cyrus Maxwell Sr and Melvina Jane Adams, Cyrus Maxwell Jr and Mattie Sparks. I have a ton of information on the Maxwell's because Hu and CJ. sons of Rufus and Sarah Jane Maxwell, who were the two historians of the family. We inherited everything. I would like to start something on facebook or a blog where we could all get to know each other. I know there are tons of relatives out there and it would be fun to exchange information and get to know each other better. I have met some of the relatives but know, from research, that there are more out there. My bloodline seems to be uninteresting to people, as I never find anyone researching it. I will give it, though, just in case. My father was Robert Hamilton Maxwell, then comes Robert Reginald Maxwell and Francis ( Fanny) Lawrence, then comes Robert Alexander Maxwell and Clotille Delafield Blankman ( I have a ton of information on the Blankmans), then comes Alexander Maxwell and Caroline Hubbard Jones, James Maxwell and Barbara, and then possibly another James who immigrated. I know all of the sidelines, as a great aunt did alot of research, but there are many divorces in this line so it is confusing. So this is an email to find out if anyone has more info, would like more info on my husbands line and start a site, as well as to see if I have any relatives besides the few I know about. My husband and I are not related by DNA, so one of us was not originally a Maxwell. Thanks, Sue Maxwell Maxwell

Hi Lyndall - I don't think the email address "x x" is anything to be concerned about. The displayed name is optional in settings of email programs that I'm aware of. Obviously, they were just trying to get off list and wasn't sure how to do that. I'll check when I get home and if they haven't figured it out - I'll do it for them. Don't worry, Folks. The person was just trying to unsubscribe and doesn't know the correct way to do it. Apparently, the person also thinks he or she is hiding the sender's e-mail address too. Hopefully, he or she does not have to use the computer to make a living.
