Kat, If I understand your question, there are people on almost any list that are members of NEHGS and will do lookups. It is, of course, preferable that you post lookup requests on the appropriate list and avoid cross county requests where possible. If you want lookups done in the 1841-1910 vital records database, you might check first at http://www.sec.state.ma.us/vitalrecordssearch/. This is the Massachusetts Archives Vital Records Search page. If you find names that you believe are the people in which you are interested, post the name with the volume and page numbers. This will make it easier for whoever does the lookup for you. If you are interested in the vital records prior to 1850, you might try using the Massachusetts Vital Records Project at http://MA-VitalRecords.org. It is free and getting larger all the time.
