A son, Army Corporal Dennis F. SHINE Jr. was KIA during the Vietnam War in 1968. A longtime member of Ascension Church and member at St. Catherine of Sweden Church. Born in Worcester to Arthur F. & Christine M. (MCCARDLE) TRAINOR. Widow of Dennis F. SHINE Sr. in 1979. Burial in St. John's Cemetery. February 8 1999, Worcester, Lillian M. (WELCH) BETTLEY, 100, a former election warden. A son, Army Air Force Staff Sgt. Conrad R. BETTLEY III, was killed in Belgium during WWII in 1944. She also helped start Worcester's Victory Garden program. Born in Hartford, CT to Joseph J. & Ann (O'SHEA) WELCH. Her husband, Conrad R. BETTLEY Jr. died in 1976. Burial in New Haven, CT in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. January 9 1999, Clinton, Rolande (DUPREY) BRANDT, 80, formerly of Berlin and Corea, ME, died in Worcester. A son, Richard C. BRANDT of Berlin, died in Vietnam in 1966. She was an occupational theropist, and worked various restaurants in the Clinton-Berlin area. Born in Eagle Lake to Michal & Modeste (DAIGLE) DUPREY. Living 40 years in Berlin and 20 years in Corea before moving here in 1998. She attended Fort Kent High School, Ft. Kent, ME. She leaves her husband of 59 years, Eric A. BRANDT. Burial in South Cemetery, Berlin. January 3 & 4 1999, Worcester, Emelie B. (BENNET) TERRY CLIFFORD, 81. Her son, Army Major Frederick G. TERRY, was KIA in Vietnam in 1968. An active member of the Worcester County Horticultural Society in Boylston. A furniture refinisher and gardener. Member of First Unitarian Church. Born in New York City to John & Mildred (BRUNS) BENNET. Her husband of 52 years, Edward L. CLIFFORD died last year. Her first husband, Frederick G. TERRY, died in 1944. Private burial. September 18 1998, Hudson, Mary (FERREIRA) MEDEIROS, 100, died in Marlboro. Her son, Joseph MEDEIROS, was killed in Korea in 1951. She was a member of Christ the King Church and the Holy Ghost Society. Born in St. Miguel, the Azores, to Mariano & Mary FERREIRA. Her husband, Manuel MEDEIROS, died in 1955.
