A member of the Spencer Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Member and past president of GAUDETTE-KIRK Post #138, Amer. Legion Aux. Also a volunteer paramedic instructor for the local Amer. Red Cross. She was also mother to 6 sons and 7 daughters. Born in East Brookfield to Roger and Anna (WOODIS) VIETS. Widow to Wilfred P. RIVERS, 1969. Her burial is in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Ware. November 27, 1994, Marlboro, Sophia (TSILIFEKAS) PAPPAS, 100, her son, Christos PAPPAS of Marlboro died in WWII. She was a member of Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church and it's Enosis Society. Born in Argos, Orestikon, Greece to Demetrios & Maria TSILIFEKAS, and lived here 74 years. Burial in Evergreen, Cemetery. August 5, 1994, Worcester, Ida M. (PACKARD) DOLAN, 101, mother to William F. DOLAN of Worc. who died in a Jeep accident in 1944 while serving in the Army. Several years she worked as a packer for Vellumoid Inc. Born in Holbrook to Hosea & Eliza (ANGUS) PACKARD, and lived here 83 years. Burial in St. John's Cemetery. June 6, 1992, Clinton, Emma (COOKE) JOHNSON, 100, mother to Kenneth JOHNSON who was KIA in 1944 while serving with the Marine Corps in Europe. She and her husband owned and operated a taxi service for many years. A member of United Methodist Church, Ladies Aux. of Clinton Turn Verein and the Clinton Hospital Guild. Born in Burnley, Lancashire, England to John T. & Margaret A. (HENDERSON) COOKE. Widow to Thomas B. JOHNSON, 1971. Woodlawn Cemetery, burial. October 29, 1990, Gardner, Lillian M. (COTE) LA BOSSIERE, 89, a son, Edward LA BOSSIERE, was KIA during the Korean War. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church an it's St. Anne's Society. Born in Baldwinville to Philip & Romaldine (POIRIER) COTE. Her late husband, Hercule LA BOSSIERE died long ago. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. January 20, 1989, Dorothy N. (FAIRBANKS) BAXTER, 91, George BAXTER, her son, was killed in the Battle of Iwo Jima during WWII. She was a former national president and former state president of the Gold Star Mothers of America. Also a member of the D.A.R. and Marine Corps League Aux. Born in West Medway to Judge Rufus G. & Susie (COLLINS) FAIRBANKS. Her husband, John J. BAXTER died many years ago.
