The Irish genealogical group,TIARA, is meeting at the Moses Greeley Parker library, Dracut,MA, on Sat., May 17th! TIARA (The Irish Ancestral Research Association) is a nonprofit organization established to develop and promote the growth, study and exchange of ideas among people and organizations interested in Irish genealogical and historical research and education. Our monthly meetings educate and entertain our members, as well as foster interaction with other Irish researchers. MAY: Saturday morning, May 17, 2008 TIARA monthly meeting to be held at the Moses Greeley Parker Memorial Library in Dracut, Massachusetts (28 Arlington St.). The Library is open until 4:30 pm. Please join us! 9:00 to 10:00: TIARA Business Meeting, Announcements of Upcoming Events, Social Time 10:00 to 11:00: Using the Irish Heritage Centres for Your Family History Research Mary Ellen Grogan, TIARA Vice-President, will talk about the Irish Heritage Centres, a project to gather genealogical data by county. She will discuss the history of the project, the current situation, and how to use these resources to your advantage for family research. 11:00 to 12:00: Discovering Your Family History in Ireland! TIARA organizes an annual research trip to Ireland. Mary Choppa, TIARA President, and Janis Duffy, Past-President, will lead a discussion about genealogical research in Ireland. They will be joined by TIARA members who have done research in Ireland to share experiences, techniques and insights. Maximum 100 people. No signup.
