(GRAY), died in 1992. Born in NYC to George I. & Flossie (TAYLOR) MARDIN. An Army veteran of WWII. Awarded the Purpe Heart, the Bronze Star Medal and (5) Bronze Service Stars. He worked as a machinist for 32 yrs at Heald Machine Co., Worc., retiring in 1970 Private funeral services. Morin Funeral Home , 298 Grafton St., Worc. #7 (2 Dec 1993) WORCESTER- Francis L. BARTON, 75, of 43 Williamsburg Dr., died in Bancroft House Healthcare Center. Widower to his wife of 35 yrs, Nora R. (GOODRICH), died in July. Born in Worc. to Joseph & Phoebe (REMILLARD) BARTON. A Marine Corps veteran of WWII, participating in the capture of Okinawa. He worked as a truck driver many years and for many companies. Born in Fitchburg to Robert J. & Maybell Lena (BAILEY) TAYLOR. An Army veteran of WWII. He was a 26y employee for G.E. Co. in Fitchburg, retiring in 1972. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg. #9 (1 Dec 1993) AUBURN- Anne R. (SHABLIN) ALUKUS, 75, of 34 Pinehurst Ave She died in St.Vincent's Hosp., Worc. She was a veteran of WWII, serving as a corporal & medical tech. in the Woman's Air Corps. Burial in Notre Dame Cem. Dirsa-Kaslaukas F.H., 51 Providence St., Worc. ***There is no mention of her parents or place of birth. #10 (28 Nov 1993) BOYNTON BEACH FL- Charles R. "Roger" DIX, 76, of 3905 White Pine Dr., formerly of Worc., died in JFK Med. Ctr., Atlantis. Widower of Eva H. (MORIN), died in 1987. Born in Southboro, MA to Charles N. & Ida M. (ROGERS) DIX.He moved to FL in 1975. An Army veteran of WWII, serving in Germany. He worked as a truck driver for Alger & Smith Co. in Shrewsbury for 30 yrs, retiring in 1975. His cremains to be entombed in the mausoleum at Notre Dame Cem., Worc. #11 (27 Nov 1993) MENDON- Harold T. OWENS, 73, of 1 Old Taft Ave., died in Milford-Whitinsville Reg. Hosp. He was the widower of Rita N. (DALE), died in 1982. Born in Forrest City, PA to Harold W. & Mary (PRIBULA) OWENS A Navy veteran of WWII. A decorated survivor of the Pearl Harbor atack, which sank his ship, the USS Solace. He was a 17 yr employee at Waters-Millipore Assoc in Milford. Burial in Swandale Cem. #12 (27 Nov 1993) FRAMINGHAM- Kenneth E. WARREN, 81, formerly of Framingham, died in Natick. Widower of Helen(CONROY), died in April. Born in Framingham to Josiah & Alice (NOONAN) WARREN. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Retiring in 1977 after many years as a carpenter for the maint. dept of Framingham schools. Burial in Edgell Grove Cem. #13 (27 Nov 1993) MARLBORO- Merrill K. LE VAN), 81, of 810 Stevens St., died in Bedford VA Hosp. He leaves his wife of 50 yrs, Judith M. (MARTIN). His sister, Martha PAPIN of Dubuque Iowa also died the same day. Born in Dubuque to George & Mary (WALSH) LE VAN, and living in Mass. most of his life. A Navy veteran of WWII. He was a buyer and manager for Jordan Marsh Co. in Framingham & Boston for 33 yrs, retiring in 1977. His cremains to be buried in Evergreen Ce. ****************************** More to follow
