HI! >From the Windham County Transcript, published Danielson, CT Dated 6 Mar. 1862 Struck by Lightning.--Mr. Wm. Goddard of Petersham, while on his way to Hardwick with a loaded sleigh, last Monday, was struck by lightning and rendered insensible. On recovering his senses he found his horse, which was a very valuable one, dead in the road. Mr. Goddard received serious injuries, but is now recovering.--Barre Gazette. 27 Nov. 1862 - Counterfeit five dollar bills on the Southbridge Bank, of Southbridge, Mass., are in circulation in Providence. 19 Mar. 1863 - George Holmes of Southbridge was accidentally shot by Daniel Clifford of Worcester on Saturday, and was instantly killed. Clifford pulled the trigger of a pistol, supposing it to be unloaded. 26 Mar. 1863 - Counterfeit five hundred dollar bills on the Central Bank, Worcester, are in circulation, so the papers say. We hav'nt seen any of them. 4 June 1863 - A company of men over 45 years of age, called The Worcester State Guard, has been organized in Worcester, Mass. The legislature at its recent session authorized the formation of such companies. Any spelling errors are exactly the way it was spelled in the paper.
