As many settlers form Worcester came to Oxford County Maine (including my Severy ancestors), I thought I would post what I have about Lemuel and see what happens. Here is what I know about Lemuel Tucker. It ain't much! Lemuel died by March, 1805, when his widow remarried. He may be the Samuel Tucker listed on the 1800 Maine census in Holmanton (later Dixfield). Living next store is Aaron Severy, who married Lemuel's daughter Phebe.Confusing Samuel with Lemuel appears to have been common, if you check the Mass. records of soldiers in the Rev. Here Samuel is over 45, and has 1 male under 10, 2 under 16, 2 females under 10, 1 under 26, and 1 over 45. I have a wedding date of 3 Feb. 1781, in North Yarmouth, Maine. I also have a daughter, Phebe, born 6 June, 1781. There looks to be a brother John. This is also the name I have for Lemuel's father and grandfather. His wife was Phebe Bucknam, born March, 1753, so I would imagine Lemuel was about the same age. There is a Lemuel Tucker in New Gloucester whom some claim is the above Lemuel, but I am convinced thru census research that this is a different man. Take care, Kevin
