    2. Judy - Have you tried contacting the Funeral home listed on the father's death certificate? They may have a different address, or information on other relatives - maybe you'll get really lucky, and find that no one claimed the funeral book, and they still have it? OK, so we can always hope.... Have you asked for a lookup at the citydirectory list for the father, or others with the same surname in AL? If he was a city clerk, he must be mentioned somewhere. Of course Alabama is a big state, so you need to know what city. You should look for the probate record in the courts. Also, did they own the property they were living at in LA? If so there would be real estate records. Is anyone else buried in their cemetery plot, or nearby?
