    1. Sutton, MA, to Mexico, ME, 1700's (KIDDER, WAITE)

    3. Hello, I have been researching my KIDDER's for 11 years, and they went from New Ipswich, NH, to Calais, ME, during the late 1700's (via New Brunswick). I also have an interest in all the KIDDER families who moved to "Maine" during the 1700's ! * One set of families I know about moved from the Sutton and Oxford, MA, area in the late 1700's up to Oxford County, ME. In particular in the towns of Mexico, Dixfield, and Rumford (and Peru) ! Someone wrote to me recently asking about those KIDDER's and that got me thinking about them again ! I went to remind myself of which families were involved, and found out that a KIDDER and a WAITE family might have moved up there together. And, it is possible that a group of families from Worcester County might have moved to the Mexico, ME, area together ! I was wondering if there is a web site which discusses this, and possibly offers a list of the families who moved up there together ! Or, is this small migration mentioned in the history books of Sutton and Oxford, MA? An FYI is that the KIDDER's living in Oxford Co., ME, in the 1800's, seem to have spread out to other areas ! Some might have stayed in the area, but others went "west." I have access to KIDDER information, and I have the "History of Billerica," where the patriarch, James KIDDER, lived until his death in 1676. So, I know that several of James' descendants started to move out of the Billerica and Chelmsford area in the early 1700's. Some went to CT; some went to the Worcester area, and some went to NH, etc. Thank you for your time. Betty (near Lowell, MA) *Just a reminder that Maine did not become a State until l820.
