    1. On the subject of Albee ..................
    2. Hi Listers, I and several other people are trying to identify the parents of Mary Newton, born April 26, 1812, somewhere in Massachusetts ............ I've seen Moulton, Sutton, Marlboro, etc. and died July 05, 1858 at Richmond, Washington, Rhode Island where her death certificate says she was born in Moulton, Mass. and she is buried in Mass. She married Preserved Smith Greene or Green September 20, 1829 at Douglas, Worcester, Massachusetts. 3. Good Morning Jon: Wherever you found those births for Preserved and Mary as far as Douglas is concerned, I have a news flash - not recorded there. The book of vitals from 1719 - 1843 did not get to Boston to be included in the Douglas Vital Records! Why - who knows. Anyway this is the story: I discovered this and set about extracting all the vitals of Douglas from 1719 to 1843 that did not appear in the printed book. Nothing for Preserved and Mary. However - in the printed book on page 32, is an entry Green, ____, son of Preserved and Mary b. 24 Mar 1845. I saw a quarterly of the RI Roots Mar-Jun 1998 pg 124 that this child was Byron Van Buren Green. In the Douglas vital records (printed book) on pg 109 it states that Preserved [Preserved S. in intention] and POLLY Newton were married 20 Sep 1829. Mary/Molly/Polly are all interchangeable. As far as the Upton vital records are concerned - what you see in the printed book is what you get. However, here is another thing. The original records that went to Boston to be printed, disappeared. What happened to them who knows. When I was able to see the Upton vital records on line at NEHGS, I ran the births from 1841-1850 against the book, and of the 45 entries for that time period, only 12 are in the book! The town clerk is aware of this because I called her on the phone and told her about it. Regards, Alison Franks Archivist, Rawson Family Association
