(VII) Colonel John WHITNEY, son of Andrew WHITNEY (VI) was born in Princeton, Mass. on Dec. 31, 1792. He died there May 15, 1846. He was a farmer and stock dealer, buying cattle and driving them to market at Brighton. He held various town offices and as Representative to the General Court. He was active in the militia and rose from the ranks to the command of a Regiment. He married (1st) ,intentions dated Aug. 23, 1822 to Mary NEWTON of Royalston, Mass. She died Oct. 6, 1831, age 31 years, leaving 3 of her 6 children. He married (2nd) on Oct. 4, 1832 to Eliza Ann French WATSON, born in Princeton on April 22, 1814 and died Jan. 2, 1891. She is buried in the Rural Cemetary at Worcester. Children of Col.
