The entire block behind City Hall in Worcester was called the common. No-one lived on it unless you count those who were buried there. I do not remember a bear drinking soda: would like to hear about that one. I do remember a donkey about 20 miles west of Worcester who drank beer. The teen agers used to help him imbibe !
