(VI) Jseph SARGENT, son of Joseph SARGENT (V) was born in Malden, Mass. on May 28, 1690. He married June 4, 1713 to Hannah BUCKMAN, who was born Aug. 13, 1694 and died Jan 22, 1782, daughter of Joseph BUCKMAN. They resided at Malden and Charlestown. He died Nov. 16, 1760. His children were: #1 Joseph, of whom later; #2Hannah, born June 28, 1718, married Feb. 7, 1739-40 to Jabez BURDITT, she died in 1748; #3 Mary, born Nov. 18, 1721, married June 24, 1742 to Natan SARGENT, she died May 28, 1750; #4 David, born March 22, 1723-4, married June 27, 1751 to Mehitable GREEN, who was born Aug. 3, 1732, died Aug. 20, 1806, daughter of John GREEN, resided at Malden, he died June 2, 1803; #5 Ruth, born Feb. 25, 1725-6, died March 3, 1740-1;#6 Deborah, born July 13, 1728, married Ezra SARGENT, she died Sept. 9, 1791; #7 Phebe, born Aug. 14, 1730, died Aug. 24, 1738; #8 Solomon, born, May 28, 1732, died Aug. 21, 1738; #9 Jacob, born Nov. 10, 1736, died Sept. 1, 1738; #10 Phebe (2nd) born Dec. 6, 1739, married Jan. 28, 1762 to John CHENERY, she died about 1805. (VII) Joseph SARGENT, son of Joseph SARGENT (VI), was born in Malden or Charlestown, Mass. July 6, 1716. He married Jan. 20, 1746-7 to Hannah WHITTEMORE, daughter of Daniel WHITTEMORE. She was born May 13, 1724 and died in 1757. He married (2nd) in 1758 to Martha GROAT. He settled in Leicester, Mass., where many of his descendants have lived afte him. Joseph SARGENT was one of the original purchasers. Children of Joseph are: #1 Joseph, Nov. 2, 1747, died young;#2 Daniel, born Sept. 9. 1750, married Mary LYCETT, who was born in 1755 and died April 28, 1842, resided in Holden and Worcester, was a soldier in the Revolution, he died May 17, 1838;#3 Hanah, born Feb. 11, 1754; #4 Joseph (2nd) born July 24, 1756, married May 6, 1783 to Mary DENNY, who was born April 15, 1758 and died Nov. 2, 1813,daughter of Thomas DENNY, resided in Leicester, he died March 14, 1787; #5 Patty, born 1759 and died May 18, 1831; #6 Rachel, born in 1761 and died May 29, 1831; #7 Stephen, born Oct. 12, 1762, married April 11, 1799 to Lucy BLANCHARD, resided in Leicester, Vermont and Canada, he died after 1809. (VIII) Joseph SARGENT, son of Joseph SARGENT (VII) was born in Leicester, Mass. on July 24, 1756. Joseph (2nd) of name. He married May 6, 1783 to Mary DENNY, daughter of Thomas DENNY of Leicester, She was born April 15, 1758 and died Nov. 2, 1813. They settled in Leicester, where he died March 14, 1787. Their children were: #1 Henry, of whom later; #2 Sophia, born Aug. 13, 1785, married Nov. 25, 1813 to Daniel McFARLAND, married (2nd) Jan.19, 1822 to Horace McFARLAND, she died Feb. 15, 1853; #3 Joseph Denny, of whom later. (IX) Colonel Henry SARGENT, son of Joseph SARGENT (VIII) was born in Leicester, Mass. on Nov. 16, 1783. He married June 2, 1812 to Elizabeth DENNY. She was the daughter of William DENNY, born Sept. 17, 1789 and died May 6, 1862, he died March 31, 1829. Their children were: #1 Mary Denny, born March 10, 1813, died Aug. 12, 1814;#2 Thomas D., born Sept. 23, 1814, married Oct. 5, 1845 to Almira M. KURTZ, who was born Oct. 5, 1829 and died Aug.15, 1855, he died in 1882 in Rome, Italy; #3 Dr. Joseph, born Dec. 31, 1815; #4 Mary Sophia, born Jan. 24, 1818, married Nov. 16, 1835 to Isaac WORCESTER; #5 Henry, born July 28, 1820, died Nov. 19, 1820; #6 Henry (2nd of name) born Nov. 7, 1821, married April 30, 1849 to Catherine D. WHITNEY, who was born Dec. 17, 1824 and died Sept. 9, 1849, daughter of Asa, resided in Worcester, he died April 27, 1858; #7 Elizabeth, born April 27, 1824, married Sept. 27, 1849 to Alfred LAMBERT, she died Dec. 1891; #8 Lyman W. born July 19, 1826, died Aug. 9, 1827.
