First, they have books for all the cemeteries - besides St. Mary's which is very large, there are several other cemeteries. Vernon Grove Cemetery, and North Purchase are all I can think of at the moment. The other Catholic Church is Sacred Heart. The Milford Daily News is the local paper, and it has been published since the late 1800's. The library has it on microfilm. I don't know if it circulates. The library is not strong on city directories, although they do have some. The 2 big industries were quarrying granite and shoe factories, both of which attracted a large population of Italian people.
