(V) Josehp SARGENT, son of John SARGENT(IV) was born in Barnstable, Mass. on April 18, 1663. He married 1685 to Mary GREEN, daughter of John GREEN, she was born Dec. 1668 and died April 9, 1759. They lived in Malden and Charlestown. He died Nov. 27, 1717. His children were: #1 Mary, born July 4,1686, married Sept. 28, 1705 to Thomas BURDITT, she died Oct. 27, 1761; #2 Sarah, born March 22, 1688-9, died young; #3 Joseph, of whom later; #4 Jabez, born in 1692, married Aug. 21, 1716 to Mary LYNDE, who was born Aug. 25, 1692 and died May 26, 1744, daughter of Joseph, he married (2nd) on Oct. 9, 1746 to Rachel WAITE, who was born Oct. 24, 1704 and died Dec. 23, 1776, daughter of Thomas, resided at Malden and he died Oct. 28, 1781; #5 Sarah, born Oct. 30, 1695, married Dec. 3, 1713 to Samuel NEWHALL, she died Nov. 17, 1740; #6 John, born June 10, 1698, married May 25, 1721 to Sarah DEXTER, who was born April 6, 1699 and died Aug. 3, 1759, daughter of Richard, resided at Malden, he died Nov. 20, 1760; #7 Deborah, born Aug. 13, 1701, married Uriah OAKES, died May 20, 1764; #8 Samuel, born March 1, 1703-4, married Elizabeth (?), who was born in 1708 and died Oct. 20, 1781, resided at Stow, he died Nov. 20, 1791; #9 Nathan, born Sept. 12, 1706, married May 29, 1729 to Mary VIALL, who was born Aug. 23, 1711 and died Sept. 9, 1795, daughter of Nathaniel, resided at Chelsea, he died March 15, 1774; # 10 Elizabeth, born Dec. 5, 1710, married Nov. 7, 1734 to Ebenezer BARRETT and died Feb. 11, 1769.
