Hi Helen: I think I may have located your ancestral relative, Louisa Bartlett who m. William Dutton Hayward on 5 Nov, 1836. The Vital Statistics of Northboro show a marriage by Lois-W and William Hayward of Hopkinton, occcurring 27 Oct., 1836. This may be the date the intentions were published or it may be the actual wedding date. The births for Northboro show that Lois-White Bartlett, a dau. was born on 3 Apr.,1813 to Gill and Sally Bartlett. The parents Gill and Sally refer to Gill Bartlett, son of Antipas Bartlett and Lois White, who was b. in Northboro on 15 Oct., 1773. Sally refers to Sally Patterson, the dau. of David Patterson and Beulah Clark, who was b. in France on 30 July, 1776 and d. in Northboro 21 July, 1826. I show 8 children born to Sally, the last of which was Lois-White Bartlett. Gill and Sally's marriage is shown in the Vital Statistics of Northboro as 25 April, 1796, but based upon a record review that I made in the Northboro Town Clerk's office some years ago, I found the official date to have been 25 Aug., 1796. Following Sally's death, Gill married Sarah (Crawford) Wyman, the widow of Abraham Wyman and the dau. of Col. John Crawford and Rebecca Mahan who was b. in in Boylston on 6 May, 1795. [Source: unpublished genealogy notes of Gilman Bigelow Howe, ca 1850-1940.] The Vital Statistics of Northboro record this marriage as having taken place on 1 Dec., 1828. Northboro town records indicate that Rev. Joseph Allen officiated. The 1850 Census reports Gill and Sarah living together in Worcester, at which time he was 77 and she was 55 years of age. Gilman Bigelow Howe reported that Gill Bartlett d. on 5 Jan., 1859; this date is in agreement with the record in the Northboro Town Clerk's office. I was just searching through my notes to see if I could find the date of death for Sarah (Crawford) Bartlett, but instead I found a third marriage for her at age 71, on 27 Nov., 1866 to Gill Valentine, a 78 year old surveyor who had been born in Hopkinton, the son of William and Elizabeth J. Valentine. It was his second marriage. Tracing back the Bartlett lineage: 6. Lois-White Bartlett was the dau. of Gill and Sally (Patterson) Bartlett. 5. Gill Bartlett was the son of Antipas and Lois (White) Bartlett. She was b. in Lancaster. 4. Antipas Bartlett was the son of Jotham and Miriam (Howe) Bartlett. 3. Jotham Bartlett was the son of Daniel and Martha (Howe) Bartlett. 2. Daniel Bartlett was the son of Henry and Mary (Bush) Bartlett. She was b. in Cambridge. 1. Henry Bartlett was born in Wales probably between 1655 and 1660. His parentage is not known at this time. ^ In 1675 he served in Capt. Johnson's Company in the War Against King Philip (also known as the ^ Naragansett campaign). My descent includes Henry and Daniel, but not the other individuals shown above. Hope this information is helpful. Bob Bartlett
