Thanks Alison - When the weather warms up for good, I'll go over and take a look at the head stone. Sounds pretty unusual for the time. We still have some snow on the ground. My friend Gladys tells me that Matthew Taft and Robert Taft were brothers, but they were referred to as the Irish Tafts and the English Tafts, because when they came to the US, one left from Ireland and the other left from England. I don't know if they have been proven to be related, or if this is still a question. Nowadays with DNA, I'm sure that question could be answered pretty easily. Gladys had a cousin, Marjorie [I think] who was involved in the Taft Family Assoc. at one time.
