One more memory just popped up. I remember when Whitinsville's water reservoir never had any houses built around it. The name of the pond isn't remembered at the moment, but we had to park in the woods and walk to the swimming area. Geez, that's about 45+ years ago. We'd swim out to a huge boulder out there. Those were the days. According to my Dad there's houses everywhere out there now. Who'd a figured that would have happened. My last visit to Whitinsville was in 1997. Marcia
Would that be where the West Hill Dam is now? It is kind of out in the woods, it is between Hartford Ave. and the road that Miscoe is on going into Mendon(I can't remember the name of the street.) I am in Whitinsville and Northbridge all the time , my brother and my niece both live there and I go to the Salvation Army Thrift store there to buys used books. They have built many big and beautiful homes all in that area and are still building. There is a lot of water in the area and I suppose that is why so many Mills were built over that way. Some of those old mill buildings are really nice condo's and elderly housing now. A good way to use the big buildings. Helen
