    3. I spent many days at White City and rode everything from the Merry-go-round to the Bullet, also rides up and down Lake Quinsigamond in the old boats that gave rides. In the late 50's they had lots of good groups there like Danny and the Juniors (I can't remember the other names of who I saw) and we went there with our dates. I don't remember any sandwich place there either. The White City Diner and Harry's were close by and Harry's sold every kind of sandwich and "grinder" you could think of. Even after I was married and lived in Westboro, we went to Worcester or Shrewsbury to grocery shop and everytime we stopped and got grinders to take home from Harry's. It was a sad time when they tore White City down, it had been a place of great fun for many families in the area. We took our children to Whalom Park and they had a rollercoaster they could ride but the child had to be a certain height before they could ride it. We also went to Norumbega(spelling?) Park to feed the ducks on Sundays--now I am not sure what town it was in but it was near Waltham and that area. The good old days before kids hung idle at the Malls! We always had things to do and places to go that were fun! Helen
