The good news is that the 1851 Canada census is now online - the bad news is that it has not yet been indexed. If you know where to look you are in luck. I was, and found the most important ancestors I was looking for on the first and third pages of scans. I am still hard at work looking through scanned pages. Just thought should pass on.
