I decided to try again, though I don't have much information to help with my "brick wall". Charles Bowles (or Bolles) was born in Hanover, MA, October 1761, a mulatto, whose parents are unknown, not given on his birth record (which, by the way, resides with the State of New Hampshire, where he lived much of his life). He stated with a "Mr. Jones" in Lunenberg, MA, from soon after his birth to 1763, when Mr. Jones. He had a very interesting life, much of it documented and/or written into a history of his life, which is in the African-American collection in the library at the University of North Carolina. In attempting to sort out his origins, I wonder whether there are records which might mention Mr. Jones (and, possibly, a child) in Lunenberg, but I can't locate anything on the Internet. This is my only connection with Worcester, though I was born and grew up in Melrose! Live in West Michigan now and very seldom find a chance to go east. Any ideas - and thank you - Jean Stine
