Incorporated as Hutchinson but renamed Barre in 1776 Sections: Barre Center, Barre Falls, Barre Four Corners, Barre Plains, Bogue, Christian Hill, Coldbrook, East Barre, Harvard Corner, Harwoods, Heald Village, High Plains, Powder Hill, Rice Village, Ryder Village, Smithville, South Barre, West Barre, White Valley.
