Can someone do a lookup for me at NEHGS if the records cover this date? I found a marriage at the MA state archives site which looks like it might be my 2nd great grandmother's sister. I'm hoping the actual record might include more information, like maybe her parents' names or previous spouse? Savery Mary J. There is a list called Archaic Community, District, Neighborhood, Section and Village, Names in Massachusetts at the state archives page http://www.sec.state.ma.us/cis/cisuno/unoidx.htm The closest to Danielson is Danielsville / Rowley / Essex There is a Danielson, Connecticut in Windham County Lisa ----- Original Message ----- From: "DEAN & KAREN TREARCHIS" dktrearchis@comcast.net Has anyone heard of Danielson, MA? I tried googling this town, but could not find it. I looked up the towns in the Quabbin and it is not one of those towns. I'm wondering if it is now a section of some town. For example, Dracut has a section of town that is called Collinsville and in the past people would just refer to a person as being from Collinsville not Dracut. I found mention of this in a newspaer: Sister Loretta Gates Whitney died in Sep 1936. In obituary it said “she leaves a sister Mrs. Mary Stevens of Danielson.” The person I am researching is Mary E. (Gates) Stevens born and died in Westminster,MA. Her funeral was in Gardner,MA and she married my ancester who was Israel Jacob Stevens who called himself Ij Stevens or I. James Stevens. He died in 1899. Karen

I am new to this list, and have many Worcester County relatives. Daniel STEWART (STUART, STEWARD) was born in Leicester or Rutland in 1756 (history says Paxton, but Paxton was formed from parts of these towns in 1765). He served in the Revolutionary War for 19 days. In 1779 he married Dorothy MAYNARD of Westborough. In 1783 they moved to Brattleboro, VT. Their daughter Elizabeth married my g-g-g-grandfather James Frost. Daniel died in 1834. Widower Ebenezer FROST was in Cambridge, MA with four children in 1760. He married Ruth Wright of Woburn in 1761, and they moved to a farm he bought in Rutland, MA. They had six children (in addition to four Ebenezer had with first wife Naomi Dana). Son James was probably born Dec. 15, 1776. A shoemaker, James moved to Brattleboro, VT in 1790, later marrying Elizabeth Stewart. Ebenezer died in 1768. His home, which was built around 1760-61, still exists, although moved from its original location. The current owner allowed my husband and me to tour it in 2003. Amazing. Robert Anthony CALLAHAN moved from Charlestown, NH to Fitchburg around 1893, then to Worcester around 1895. He was a bartender or waiter, then had his own saloon starting around 1904. He married Florence PRATT in 1902. She died between 1911 and 1918. Prohibition closed his saloon in 1920, and his employment was spotty after that. He married Karah E. (surname unknown) in 1927. She was a clerk in a boot and shoe company. He died around 1936, Karah around 1949. Robert didn't have children with either wife. John C. CARMODY married Joanna (Annie) KENT in 1888. In 1890 they moved from Keene, NH to Fitchburg, where he worked for Western Union. By May of 1891 John's mother Mary (CORBETT) CARMODY was living with him. In 1892 he was manager of the Postal Cable Telegraph, a position he held through 1911. By 1895 he established Carmody's District Messenger and Signal Service which he ran while working at Postal. He invented a signal device for the telegraph and a device that allowed people to drive a car with hands only. His sisters Ages and Ellen (Nellie) lived in Fitchburg or Leominster from around 1896 to 1908 when they and their mother moved back to Charlestown, NH. Both John and Annie died in 1926. They are buried in Keene, NH with Annie's mother and brother. Last week I discovered that many of Annie (Kent) CARMODY's KENT relatives lived in Fitchburg, including her brothers Timothy and James. Timothy and wife Bridget (often listed by nickname Delia) Welch had six children, some of whom I found into the 1950s. James and wife Annie had several children, but he didn't live long. I need to go back to the Library of Congress and check Fitchburg city directories for this family. Sources for the above information include federal censuses; city directories; two Frost family genealogies; vital records; histories of Brattleboro, Rutland (MA), and Charlestown, NH; tombstones; over 60 articles from Fitchburg newspapers on Ancestry.com; and information from the Rutland and Charlestown Historical Societies. If anyone is related to these individuals, please contact me and we can exchange information. There may be a delay in responding since I'll be at the NGS convention 5/13-17. I just added the last of the Massachusetts Historical Collections for Worcester County to my website. I do not know when Worcester was incorporated as a city but it was a town when these were published on 1849. These vary a lot from short one paragraph articals to longer ones with much info about the towns with things about industries, wars, monument inscriptions, Ect. In some places these are written to sound as people would in the 1700's and keep that way, includeing the spelling if differant than what we use now. Links to all the towns and other counties may be found on the Worchester County page at: http://history.rays-place.com/ma/worcester/index.htm Other completed counties for these files are Franklin and Hampshire. Counties that have part online are Hapmden, Middlesex and Norfolk. If you explore the rest of my web site I am sure that you will also find other things of interest. According to Google I now have a little over 6,000 pages online. Many of those are small biographies but you may find the histories of other places of interest and the census pages usefull. Cheers Ray http://www.rays-place.com

I have added more to the Massachusetts Historical Collections at my web site. I now have 44 of the 55 towns in Worcester County online. http://history.rays-place.com/ma/worcester/index.htm I have also started Middlesex County and have the following towns there completed: Acton Ashby Bedford Billerica Boxborough Brighton Burlington Carlisle Chelmsford. These are located at: http://history.rays-place.com/ma/middlesex/ These were origionaly published in 1849 and parts of them are as people would have spoken back then, and I put them on pages the way that they were. Some of these mantion a lot of the early settlers and some only a few ministers. Many of the historical Sketches for Middlesex County are going to be very long compaired to what I put online for other counties, I will be adding one to three towns a day to these, but probably will not anounce the additional ones till near the end, so stop back often for updates. I've "rescued" an old photograph of 6 men taken by C. E. Wellman in Chester, Vermont. The photograph was taken outside in front of a home or building and indicates that it is either in Chester or Bellows Falls, VT. The photograph is dated 1904 and identifies the men in the photograph as: Albert MORCE (guessing this is actually MORSE) F. C. PARMENTER Eliet MORCE (guessing this is Eliot MORSE) L. N. PARMENTER L. E. DAY Rob SLOAN And the dog "Stride" identified as well. The men in the photograph appear to range in age from 20's to 60's. Based on limited research I was able to locate quite a lot of information regarding this group of men and have included that information below: Foster C. PARMENTER b. Sept 1876 in VT to parents Lucien PARMENTER (b. Oct 1847 in VT) and Alice R. CUTLER (b. Mar 1857 in VT). Foster married Lulu M. MORRIS about 1903 and together they had two children, Arminala R. Try the town of webster http://www.webster-ma.gov/index.php?page=departments Town Clerk to ask about the cemetery and Veterans dept to ask about who marks the graves I also just found this website for Olde Webster - looks pretty interesting http://oldewebster.com/ You could also try contacting a local funeral home.
