A couple of helpful aids for genealogy searchers. www.raogk.org ( Random acts of genealogy kindness- RAOGK) www. helplist.org Both of these have been helpful especially the Worcester helpers. Bill
I think some of the Lynch's from MA migrated into the New River Valley where NC/VA/TN intersect. I have some Irish Lynch/Linch's in my line. A lot of Irish, German, Welsh, English, and Scotch-Irish families migrated from MA to this area.
There were several marriages of Daly or Daley men and women performed by Catholic priests assigned to Christ's Church/St. John's Worcester, prior to 1850. These priests covered a wide area back then. John

Yes, I am glad someone mentioned this. It is so much easier when someone puts the Surname and/or location in the Subject Line.

The City Clerk, Mr. David Rushford, claims to have looked for the old vital records but can not find them. He claims they have been lost for a long time. Since before 1982 or so. Yet those books were filmed by the Holbrook Institute around that time. He should look again and, if the records can not be found, an investigation should be conducted. Anyone agree? Greetings from Truro, Nova Scotia I am researching my "Oborne" great aunts that went from Quebec (Eastern Townships) to Fitchburg, Lunenburg, Arlington and Bridgewater and married. They married and their surnames were: Wolfe, White, Carle and Warner. I would like to correspond to anyone researching those surnames in those locations - I do have husbands first names and in some cases the burial location. Sharon Oborne MacKenzie Truro, Nova Scotia

McKinleyville, California = 100 miles south of Oregon border on Redwood coast. Cool Mediterranean Climate all summer long! today it is about 62 degrees! POMEROY Discovered two POMEROY lines in the family line of my late grandmother, Ethel May Sleeper, (Russell) from her 2 great grandmother, Pamelia Pomeroy B. 1760, that goes like this: POMEROY/Edtweed/Medad/Mehitable who married John King; and in the same family line I have POMEROY/Josiah/Eleazer/Pamelia who married Nathan Dodge b. 1758 of Dudley, MA. I am trying to see if there might be a connection between these POMEROYS to a POMEROY family of Worcester whose children were dear friends of my late mother (Sally Sleeper Russell b. 1919) who was born and raised in Worcester. The names of her friends were Virginia and Margaret "Peggy" Pomeroy. All three girls attended the Bancroft School in Worcester in the 1930s. I do not believe that either family was aware that they all might be related to each other. Is anyone on this list who might be familiar with this Pomeroy family of Worcester, Ma.? Thanks, Jacqueline Sleeper Russell

I decided to try again, though I don't have much information to help with my "brick wall". Charles Bowles (or Bolles) was born in Hanover, MA, October 1761, a mulatto, whose parents are unknown, not given on his birth record (which, by the way, resides with the State of New Hampshire, where he lived much of his life). He stated with a "Mr. Jones" in Lunenberg, MA, from soon after his birth to 1763, when Mr. Jones. He had a very interesting life, much of it documented and/or written into a history of his life, which is in the African-American collection in the library at the University of North Carolina. In attempting to sort out his origins, I wonder whether there are records which might mention Mr. Jones (and, possibly, a child) in Lunenberg, but I can't locate anything on the Internet. This is my only connection with Worcester, though I was born and grew up in Melrose! Live in West Michigan now and very seldom find a chance to go east. Any ideas - and thank you - Jean Stine
