    2. Hi All, These family bibles are for sale on E-bay. These notifications were in this weeks issue of "Somebody"s Links". I have no connection to E-bay or to the sellers, but hoped to alert some fellow list members. The MULCAHY auction ends tonight. Regards, Fran Central MA o Antique MULCAHY Family Bible 1881; Item # 1554860304 Auction ends: Aug-15-02 09:04:08 PDT; Seller: sasori Leather bound Bible 12.7" x 10" x 4" circa 1881, although some copyright dates are as early as 1874, published by D & J Sadlier & Co. 31 Barclay Street New York and 275 Notre-Dame Street, Montreal. The first page of the book is dedicated: "Presented to Mr. M. MULCAHY by Robert WALSH, Pastor. Imm. Conception Church, Worcester, Mass. May 23, 1881." This Bible was purchased at auction and was formerly owned by A. CADDIEUX of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1554860304 ________________________________________________________________________ o 1846 GOULD Family Bible with Genealogy; Item # 898768022 Auction ends: Aug-19-02 09:27:55 PDT; Seller: infinitetreasures Large family Bible with a leather cover and a lot of records in the Birth, Death, and Marriage sections. The name "Andrew GOULD" is embossed on the front cover. There is a lined page in the Bible that was filled in with names and dates that go back to 1731 (the ink is brown, thick and quite faded, indicating that the entries are probably as old as the Bible itself). There is a separate, official "Bible Records" page with the name "Andrew GOULD" and the dates "1805 - 1896" printed on it. There are six pages of genealogy, and the latest date is 1947 so it covers family history from 1731 to 1947. Some of the marriage names are CONLEY, NICHOLS, FULLER, PHILLIPS. The GOULD family is from Massachusetts. There is a page from a 1700s Bible found in this Bible too, with the old English case, and an antique book mark made of silky thread material. [Editor's Note: To see a "slide show" of all of the family record pages and a number of other pages, all of which can be enlarged sufficiently to read them, use the link "1846bible" at the bottom of the listing.] http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=898768022 ________________________________________________________________________ PERMISSION TO REPRINT NOTICES FROM SOMEBODY'S LINKS is granted, PROVIDED: (1) the reprint is not used for commercial purposes; and (2) the following notice appears at the end of the message: Previously published in SOMEBODY'S LINKS NEWSLETTER: Genealogical Treasures Found, Vol. 4, No. 28, 14 August 2002. http://www.PetuniaPress.com/.

My search started with Ballou in Worcester, and is now in the Milwaukee, Oregon area where the only known relatives of my husband's father are, the 2 children of Verne Eustis Ballou,d. in 1980, but I have not been able to connect yet. This list has been useful and fun to belong to! They didn't bother to get his full name, he was likely Irish so it didn't matter.
