I am interested in information on the above. George was born 12-12-1777 in Rhode Island. Do not have any information on his parents. Mary (Polly) Southland was born in Mendon, MA on 4-22-1783. They were married in Mendon on January 8, 1807. Mary's parents we are not positive on, David Southland and his wife Mehitable. I don't have any clues on. George and Mary (Polly) had at least 7 children. Clarissa Adelia was born 11/25/1810. I know they all moved to Cherry Creek, New York where Clarissa, George and Mary (Polly) are buried. I would be interested in any information on the Mendon area on the Southlands and if anyone would know about the Sheffield's in Rhode Island. He leaves a son, Duty E. CASWELL III of Dougas: a daughter, Sue E. REARDON of Douglas and St. Cloud, Fla.: a sister, Dorothy HARNOIS of New Smyrna: eight grandchildren: 23 great-grandchildren; and two nephews. He was born in Douglas, son of Duty E. and Susan F. (ALDRICH) CASWELL, and attended Douglas public schools. Mr. CASWELL was a machinist at Whitn Machine Works, Whitinsville section of Northbridge, retiring several years ago. During WWII he manufactured magnetos for ar crafts and tanks. He was a membe of First Congregational Church of Douglas. He was also a memberof the Douglas Grange 102 and the Mumford River Lodge of Masons for more than 50 years.
