    2. Amy J. Davis
    3. Hi! I am trying to locate the families(parents/siblings) of Abigail Foskett B. 1709 and Abigail Townsend B. abt. 1738. Foskett married Joseph Sawyer in 1732. They had a son named Oliver. He married Abigail Townsend in 1763. Both couples apparently married in Harvard. Thanks, Amy

    1. RE: [MAWORCES] Douglas cemetery
    2. AGFranks
    3. Hello Jackie: Douglas has a Cemetery Commissioner, and he would be the best person to ask. You can write to him at the Town Hall, East Douglas, MA. There is St. Denis Cemetery which is kept by St. Denis Catholic Church. There is another cemetery in East Douglas on Cemetery Street that does not have a name. There are French buried there, but not many stones sorry to say. Many of thoe stones left that would be for the French are in the front of the cemetery along what was a fence, and not over run with poison ivy. The stones that are standing are up on the hill. I did not see anything with the name Dumas. If he was living later than say 1930, then he is probably in St. Denis. Then again, there may not be any stone. Another thing you might check is the Town Clerk's office to see if there might be a record of death. I did a book up for the town clerk on burial and transit permits and another lady did an index. The Town Clerk has the book. I don't remember how far back the permits went. Sorry. Regards, Alison Franks Archivist, Rawson Family Association

    2. Click here: Introduction - Census of 1851 - ArchiviaNet - Library and Archives Canada http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/1851/index-e.html Knowing many of our New England ancestors went to Canada in the late 1700's & 1800s (as did some of mine) thought I should share this news. The good news is that the 1851 Canada census is now online - the bad news is that it has not yet been indexed. If you know where to look you are in luck. I was, and found the most important ancestors I was looking for on the first and third pages of scans. I am still hard at work looking through scanned pages. Just thought should pass on. TARBELL was probably originally from Massachusetts and was working in Washington DC at the time the diary was written. Information contained in the diary which provides some clues to his identity is as follows: Diary of C. S. TARBELL 611 Maryland Avenue, Washington DC Dated on Tuesday, April 4th 1871 * First entry is Monday, March 27th - "Never forget this eve at J. F. BOYNTON'S with Mae, The Best" Clues to identity: * Visited Mother in Ashburnham with Eddie MARSHALL * Went through West Townsend to Grandfather's * Commenced work at 611 Maryland Avenue for R. B. CLARK, Salary $600 + expenses * Traveled with Aunt Emma P. and exchanged letters, she lives in Groton * J. J. RUSSELL visited from the west * Writes to C. B. PRESTIN and O. D. PRESCOTT * Received letter from W. A. PRESTON * Sent papers to Geo W. MITCHELL * Received a letter from Hattie MITCHELL List of Correspondents in back: * Mae * Aunt Emma * Uncle Frank * L. A. BUCK * C. E. PEABODY * O. D. PRESCOTT * John HAILSHOM * F. Edson NUTTING * H. H. EMERSON * Geo A. TARBELL * Eddi O. MARSHALL * M. F. JONES * J. A. BUCKMUNSTE * J. A. BUZZELL * S. H. RUSSELL * L. M. MITCHELL & Family * Mother & Mary ADAMS I am hoping to locate someone from his family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of his family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
