Hi BF, Just thought I would let you know we had a wonderful time researching at the Clayton. It is a lovely facility and the folks there are very helpful. We did have great success on our "other" side of the family. We are Maupins through our mother and were working on our father's side on this trip. After putting together some research we had done in South Caroline, we were able to search out some leads at the Clayton and actually identified our great grandmother and both of her parents with several generations back from them! We had thought the names we had would be our patermal g great grandmother, but they turned out to be our g grandfather and by searching wills, we found out his wife's name, too. It was VERY exciting. We had to come home a day earlier than planned because I developed bronchitis and have been down with it since returning. I am anxious to go to the library here in San Antonio to see what else I can find about our new discovery. Thanks for the encouraging words about the Clayton. I think you blessed our trip!
