Much of our old family history was gained by cousins (GARRARD) who only wanted to prove they were eligible to join the DAR and did. Am glad they gave all that information to our section of the family. What I don't understand about all the work these cousins went to is why that didn't get them hooked on doing family genealogy???? I was hooked by a Maupin cousin's wife. I had never heard of the Maupin family when this gal snail mailed me. She called my mother and got my address. I called my mother and asked who in the world this gal was and were we related. I started gathering family information for this gal and got really interested in it all and the rest is history! Sandi
